Mint Matcha Iced Latte 💚

Matcha + Mint =

💚

Summer is upon us, and nothing beats the heat like a refreshing, homemade iced drink! If you're a fan of mint, matcha, and all things refreshing, then you're going to love this recipe.

Matcha is a type of powdered green tea that is known for its potential health benefits, including antioxidants and boosting metabolism. Mint, on the other hand, is a beloved herb known for its distinctive aroma and its ability to aid in digestion. When combined, these ingredients create a powerhouse of flavour and health benefits.

To sweeten this drink, we're using honey, but feel free to substitute with your favourite sweetener. We're also keeping things light and refreshing by using cold milk, but you can absolutely switch this out for your preferred non-dairy alternative. Now, let's dive into the recipe:

Ingredients:

1. 1-2 teaspoons matcha powder (depending on your preference for strength)

2. 2 tablespoons hot water

3. 8-10 fresh mint leaves

4. 1-2 drops of edible peppermint oil

5. 1 cup of cold milk (can substitute for almond, oat, or soy milk if you prefer)

6. 1-2 teaspoons of honey or sweetener of your choice

7. Ice cubes

Instructions:

1. In a small bowl, combine the matcha powder and hot water. Whisk together until the matcha is fully dissolved.

2. In a glass, muddle the mint leaves at the bottom. This means pressing them with a spoon or muddler until they are crushed and fragrant.

3. Add 1-2 drops of your edible peppermint oil to the muddled mint. Be sure to start with just one drop, as the oil is potent, and you can always add more later if desired.

4. Pour your dissolved matcha over the mint and peppermint oil.

5. Add your honey or chosen sweetener into the glass and stir well to combine with the matcha mixture.

6. Pour your cold milk into the glass with the matcha and mint, stirring to combine.

7. Fill the rest of the glass with ice cubes and give it one more stir.

So, sit back, relax, and enjoy this refreshing Mint Matcha Iced Latte, the perfect drink to cool down on a hot summer day! Remember to adjust quantities to suit your personal taste and dietary preferences. Enjoy!
